ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Helping Hands Development Center (HHDC)
Helping Hands Development Center (HHDC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), non-religious, and non-profit organization based in Moshi, Tanzania. HHDC was established and registered under the NGO Act of 2002 of the United Republic of Tanzania. The organization is dedicated to promoting quality education, eradicating poverty and hunger, achieving a healthy society, and empowering children and youth in society.
HHDC was founded by a group of passionate individuals who shared a common vision of creating positive change in their community. The organization’s mission is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable children and youth in Tanzania by providing access to quality education, basic needs, and essential services. HHDC is strongly committed to transparency, accountability, and adopting a community-based approach to solving community challenges.
HHDC advocates for children’s and women’s rights; especially vulnerable and orphaned children, to build a better nation and future, and to strengthen their social, cultural, economic and environmental statuses in the local community through lobbying and advocacy.
Helping Hands Development Center (HHDC) holds the values of integrity, honesty, volunteerism, respect, transformation, and excellence. These values guide the organization’s operations and interactions with its stakeholders.

Improve the living conditions of vulnerable children, youth and women in Tanzania by providing access to quality education, protection against violence, and economic empowerment, while promoting transparency, accountability, and community involvement.
ORGANIZATION INTERVENTIONS
Education
HHDC’s main objective is to easy the accessibility to quality education for the most vulnerable children and youth is essential for the long-term well-being of vulnerable children and youth in Tanzania.
The organization provides educational support to children and youth, including scholarships, school supplies, mentorship, and vocational education programs. HHDC also works with schools, teachers and the government education systems to improve the quality of education provided.
Self–realization and Rights:
Due to the raising cases of violence against children and women especially sexual abuse.
HHDC is committed to raising awareness and self-realization and understanding of human rights and community accountability to reach the desired objectives of HHDC and the core need of the community.
Empowerment and Community Development:
HHDC recognizes that empowering women and youth with economic strengthening and entrepreneurial activities is essential for creating positive change in communities. The organization provides leadership and life skills training and mentorship programs to help women and youth groups to build self-confidence and develop into responsible, productive members of society. HHDC also works with communities and local government actors to promote sustainable development and improve their living conditions.
